Rumours are going around that Tony Blair is angling for the new position of EU President, backed by the French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Personally, I don't think that position is even needed, but if it is carried through, I certainly have grave doubts that Tony Blair is the man for the job - based on his performance record while PM of the UK. Apparently there's quite a few other Europeans that share that opinion & a petition has been started against him getting it:
